EN 1886 AHU classes explained: T2, TB2, L1, D1
What each class means on site — and how to specify without over-paying.
The general-purpose platform for commercial and industrial projects: 2,000 to 60,000 m³/h, EN 1886 T2 / TB2 / L1 / D1 casing, EC plug or belt-driven fans, and every coil, filter and recovery option on the same modular frame.
AERO-M Pro is built on a 50 mm double-skin casing with a polyamide thermal break between the inner and outer skins. Sections bolt together on site, so a 12-section unit still fits through a standard door — and can be reassembled if the plant room layout changes later.

Standard ranges shown. Values outside these ranges are engineered case by case — send the duty and we confirm.
| Parameter | Value / Range |
|---|---|
| Airflow range | 2,000 – 60,000 m³/h |
| External static pressure | up to 1,800 Pa |
| Casing construction | Double skin, 50 mm mineral wool, thermal break frame |
| Casing strength (EN 1886) | D1 |
| Air leakage class (EN 1886) | L1 (< 0.15 l/s·m² @ 400 Pa) |
| Thermal transmittance (EN 1886) | T2 (≤ 0.5 W/m²K) |
| Thermal bridging (EN 1886) | TB2 |
| Fan type | EC plug fan (standard) / belt-driven centrifugal (optional) |
| Motor protection / efficiency | IP55 · IE4 / IE5 |
| Filtration | ISO Coarse 60% – ePM1 80% (ISO 16890) |
| Cooling coil | 4 / 6 / 8 row copper tube, aluminium or copper fins |
| Heating options | LPHW, electric, steam, DX direct expansion |
| Heat recovery | Optional — plate, rotary wheel or run-around coil |
| Controls & communication | Unit controller, Modbus RTU / TCP, BACnet MS/TP or IP |

Energy, maintenance and redundancy — the numbers behind the decision.
Yes. AERO-M Pro is delivered in sections that bolt together on site, so large units pass through standard doors and lift cores. We supply the assembly sequence and sealing procedure with the drawings.
EC plug fans give integrated speed control, higher part-load efficiency and no belt maintenance; belt-driven remains the economical choice for very high static pressures or where a spare motor set is preferred. We quote both when the duty allows.
Every unit is run-tested: airflow, motor current, vibration, control logic and alarm functions. Test records are included in the documentation pack, and we support witness testing on request.
Modbus RTU and BACnet MS/TP are standard; Modbus TCP and BACnet IP are available with the Ethernet option. We also integrate with third-party BMS gateways.
Send airflow, static pressure and temperatures. We return a selection, budget price and DWG general arrangement within one working day.
